Courtney Heron-Monk

Ms. Heron-Monk has a diverse background in land use planning, which includes project management, policy planning, public engagement and the preparation of evidence for Ontario Municipal Board Hearings. Since joining the firm in April 2013, Courtney has been involved in a wide array of projects throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, with a particular focus on the preparation and management of various development applications, highest and best use studies, redevelopment options reports, community services and facilities studies, and planning justification reports.

Prior to joining Weston Consulting, Ms. Heron-Monk worked in the private-sector as a land use planner for another consulting firm in Vaughan. She also gained experience working in the public sector at both the provincial and municipal level having worked for the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Regional Municipality of Niagara, Township of South Algonquin and the City of Toronto.

Courtney earned her Bachelor of Arts from Brock University with a concentration in Urban Studies. During her time at Brock University, Courtney participated in an academic exchange program, which involved studies in Geography and History at Swansea University in Wales, UK. She graduated in 2011 with her Masters in Urban Development from Ryerson University.

Courtney is currently a Candidate Member of the Ontario Professional Planning Institute (OPPI) and the Canadian Institute of Planning and is working towards full membership. She is an active volunteer on OPPI’s Toronto District Committee.

Courtney works primarily out of our Toronto office.
