Anyone near Toronto’s Don River on Sunday, May 3 would have been treated to the sight of a flotilla of canoes making their way from North York to Keating Channel at the river’s mouth. The annual Manulife Paddle the Don event celebrates the renewal of Canada’s most urban river. Among the canoeists were a team from Weston Consulting consisting of Justin Polce, Tim Jessop, Ryan Guetter, Courtney Heron-Monk, David Capper and Mark Emery. The trip down the river couldn’t have been better, say the team, citing fresh air, sunshine, an invigorating portage and a chance to meet Premier Kathleen Wynne just prior to launching at Ernest Thompson Seton Park.
