Approvals in Bowmanville

Weston Consulting achieved rezoning and draft plan of subdivision approvals from the Municipality of Clarington for client Delpark Homes in January of 2016.  Obtaining the approvals for the new residential community of 60 single detached homes drew upon the planning and consulting skills of Weston’s Jane McFarlane, Associate with support from Polycarp Tam, Planner. The property is located in Bowmanville, north-east of Highway 57 and Longworth Avenue and will provide new residential dwellings with expansive views of the Bowmanville Creek.

The 19-acre Bowmanville-area development is distinguished by natural features– the Bowmanville Creek along with valleylands run along the western boundary. The sub-division design provides for public connections to open space where none previously existed.  Weston was involved in extensive consultation with an array of advisors, including natural heritage, geotechnical, slope stability and archaeology. 

Development approvals came with a set of unique challenges including maintaining environmental areas and providing a public connection to enhance the open space network.
