Queen Street East, Brampton – Urban Design

Queen Street East, Brampton

Good urban design contributes to a city’s vision of creating compact urban built form while making efficient use of existing infrastructure and services. Weston Consulting urban design team’s solution for a high-density, mixed-use urban development within Brampton’s city core does just that.

The proposed development features landmark buildings within the eastern portion of the Central Area of the City of Brampton. The pedestrian-friendly development creates a strong urban edge along the intensification corridor of Queen Street East.

A bold visual presence, thanks to skillful attention paid to massing, orientation and location, the towers are part of a vision that will eventually see a series of high-rise buildings in that area. The urban design team’s concept improves existing pedestrian connections and proposes new ones in the form of a linear green space to the south as well as an urban plaza providing an entry point to Chinguacousy Park.
